- Specutils Documentation — specutils v2. 3. 1. dev0+g4d8dbeae9. d20260203
Specutils version 2 implemented a major change in that Spectrum no longer forces the spectral axis to be last for multi-dimensional data
- python - Spectrum1D does not recognize u. dimensionless_unscaled . . .
Two of the spectra have "dimensionless" units (one, and albedo, has units of flux flux; the other, a filter response, is in photons photons) I would like to use specutils and astropy to make this easier and generally avoid reinventing any wheels
- Spectrum1D — specutils v0. 4. dev1227 - eteq. github. io
Returns:numpy array Array of dimensionless probabilities calculated as the integral of P (observed | true) over each bin in (observed - true) The output shape is the result of broadcasting the input shapes
- Manipulating Spectra — specutils v2. 3. 1. dev0+g4d8dbeae9. d20260203
Note Specutils smoothing kernel widths and standard deviations are in units of pixels and not Quantity
- arXiv:2402. 15049v1 [astro-ph. IM] 23 Feb 2024
Specutils provides three key classes: Spectrum1D, SpectrumCollection, and SpectrumList1; these are built on core Astropy classes, allowing the usual interaction with arithmetic, slicing and units
- Working with Spectrum1Ds — specutils v0. 4. dev1227 - GitHub Pages
Currently, specutils understands two WCS formats: FITS WCS and GWCS When a user does not explicitly supply a WCS object, specutils will fallback on an internal GWCS object it will create

- Add support for dimensionless spectral regions #847 - GitHub
My first reaction is that it doesn't make sense to define a spectral region on a spectrum with no units; I'd assume you'd still need something to describe the dispersion
- specutils. spectra. spectrum_collection — specutils v2. 1. 1. dev0+g8939c2b . . .
For multidimensional spectra that all have the *same* spectral axis, use a :class:`~specutils Spectrum` with dimension greater than 1 For a collection of spectra that have different shapes, use :class:`~specutils SpectrumList`
