For example, if my wifi connection, SSID is Sams Place Suddenly, when I scroll to the wifi indicator or to my network sharing centre, it has Sams Place 2 as the "internet access" name I did a search in the registry and i didn't see the 2 next to the network name How does one rename this and just remove the 2?

The Default Switch should give you internet access, but not access to other machines on your network What OS are you running in the Hyper-V VM? If it is XP then it cannot work with the standard Hyper-V Network Adapter, only the Legacy Network Adapter I have found a few cases where even a W10 VM would only work with the Legacy adapter
