The Army got 6ish years out of putting me through school I had 14 years AFS when I graduated My selection year was the largest in the history of IPAP for the Army and we are down to 37 remaining on AD for the O4 board next year What the Army wants is a Soldier to finish PA school between 8-12 years AFS Why? The service obligation is 4 5 years

When IPAP switched from granting Bachelors to Master's degrees about 8 years ago, that is when they made the switch to commissioning as 0-2's instead of 0-1's If someone were a new grad from a civilian program with a Bachelor's degree (I think those are decreasing in popularity), I am not 100% sure whether they would commission as O-1's or O-2's

As an undergrad looking to apply to PA school I was wondering how would I apply for IPAP Would I have to enlist before applying to the school? And how competitive is it to get in? Also, in your opinion, would it be better to go to IPAP, or a civilian PA school through the payback program I feel
