Don't own Maui Jim's, but I do have a pair of Costa's with the 580G lenses in blue mirror IMHO, they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned I am actually thinking of getting another pair with a different lens color for lower light situations -Connor

Have been in the market for good sunglasses when I came across this thread The three take-aways I found most helpful was 1) Maui Jim customer service! Believe it or not, never thought of sunglasses having to be sized I would just throw them on and be done with it Well, a woman at their customer service was out-of-her-way helpful

I had the Maui Jim frameless 'Sport' model in prescription The top 1 3 of the lenses delaminated after a year Not sure if it was face oil, or sunscreen (I don't think the edges were properly sealed) Maui Jim said no warranty after 1 year on prescription lenses Way too expensive for me to try again I switched to Costa del Mar

Those Maui Jim's are counterfeit guys Both pairs of mine were so bad regarding the lenses they were unwearable I had a few friends try them on without mentioning any defect As soon as they put them on they knew something wasn't right Fortunately I got a refund for both pairs Fish Save didn't even want them back Mine were the gray lenses

I have prescription Maui Jim's with HT lens and love them I thought they were too light when I first tried them on Others told me I was wrong so I ordered them They are light enough for early morning and late afternoon but still effective with full sun during the day On low light days due to overcast they are still effective

i have: Maui J's = OG Grey for bright days MJ's = Green ~ general days Hobie = Bronze ~ overcast low light Ray Bans (Used to be dad's) stay in the car Bomber = Bronze (supposedly from the Oakley Factory) for overcast low light no preferences to brand as mentioned above, bronze green for low light grey for bright days

Maui Jim World Cups with the matte rubber frames and greenish lenses for me and I recommend to anyone that asks me about them I have had Kaenon Gauge's and loved them but they were stolen and Kaenon discontinued them unfortunately I have seen the Gauge's and Kaenon Lewi's on Amazon though and both are good for heads like ours
