- What code editor or IDE do you use? - Foo forum at WebmasterWorld . . .
When I started, back in Windows days, I used HoTMetaL (get it?) developed by a company in Toronto Since switching to Linux (~ 2005?), I have been using BlueFish As pointed out by Mack, it is simple, and it does what I need Also use Kate a few times each week Have to admire all of you regex experts All I do is HTML, CSS, and a bit of PHP
- Character encoding, entity references and UTF-8
In bluefish (gedit too) when I hold down the ctrl and shift at the same time, then type 'f' and '1' - then let the keys up - I see an n with a tilde above it If I do that in an html file and view it in firefox - I see the n with the tilde just fine - but if I do it in an php file, I get a box with 4 letters in it
- How Do You Build Webpages? - New To Web Development forum at . . .
Bluefish became my editor of choice Nowadays, I use Wordpress for new sites, though I am often disgusted at the shear size of the pages In fact, it is a disgrace how big webpages have become - and the vast majority do no more than they did 15 years ago, when they used 10 times less bandwidth
